We have available an exceptionally well kept, totally rust free 1962 TR4. VIN number is 4271L. 1962 is the first year the TR4 was manufactured. This very early TR4 has benefited from living in the mild climate of the Portland / Eugene, Oregon area all of its life and has had just three owners since new. It is apparent the car has always been garaged and driven only on nicer days. The current owner has invested many hours, and a lot of money on some cosmetic upgrades including the new chrome wire wheels, burled walnut dash (note sticker on glove box shown in pictures is now cleanly removed), Lucas driving lights and a factory chrome luggage rack. A major mechanical upgrade is the Toyota overdrive five speed conversion. Now this Triumph is able to travel long distances at a much more relaxed engine rpm when in the overdrive fifth gear. The factory original combination of the white exterior paint and bright red interior color combined with chrome wire wheels give the car great appeal curb appeal. The body work and panel fit is excellent. The car has never sustained any rust, nor chassis damage. The body panels are most all original to the car and a feature to distinguish it from all the later TR4′s. It retains its original early car and impossible to replace “short bubble hood”. The engine and suspension were completely rebuilt by the former owner. This current owner insisted on chasing out all possible oil leaks and making all systems function as close to new as possible. A stereo was fitted very neatly without cutting anything. If you are looking for a very nice road going Triumph TR4 that has the benefit of being well sorted this is a nice car to consider.
